Individuals should attempt to resolve personal complaints at the lowest possible level using local
Exchange Management and their supervisory chain before elevating a complaint to the EIG.

Matters not within the authority of the Exchange IG to address:

Review the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQS) to determine if your issue is appropriate for the IG.

The Whistleblower Protection Act of 1989 prohibits reprisal. It is unlawful for a management official to take or threaten to take a
personnel action against an employee because he or she disclosed wrongdoing. Personnel actions can include poor
performance review, demotion, suspension, or termination. In addition, the law prohibits retaliation for filing an appeal,
or grievance; helping someone else file or testifying on their behalf; or cooperation with or disclosing
information to the OIG.
