Kevin Iverson is the Senior Vice President of Audit and the Office of the Inspector General for the Army & Air Force Exchange Service (Exchange) at its headquarters in Dallas, Texas. In this capacity, he is responsible for planning, directing, and controlling worldwide internal audit activities to improve the economy, efficiency, and effectiveness of the Exchange financial, operational and support activities. The Exchange is an organization of the Department of Defense, celebrating its 121st year in supporting service members and their families. The Exchange is No. 52 retail organization in the U.S. with annual revenue of $8.5 billion, employing about 35,000 associates, including a small contingent of military. The Exchange operates department and convenience stores, gas stations, restaurants, theaters, vending and other businesses on military installations in all 50 states, five U.S. territories and more than 33 countries.

Kevin is a native of Minot, N.D. He began his career as an auditor with the Air Force Audit Agency (AFAA) at Minot Air Force Base, N.D. During that time he performed and supervised audits at Minot, Griffiss, Ellsworth, Grand Forks, McConnell, Offutt and Brooks Air Force bases. He has extensive experience in auditing Air Force operations and has held positions of increased responsibility to include field auditor, team chief, office chief and program manager. He has performed and directed audits in a wide variety of subject areas including accounting and finance, aircraft maintenance, civil engineering, contracting, healthcare, operations, readiness, personnel, security, supply and training.

Kevin continued to advance in his career, going from auditor to Fiscal Supervisor, Budget Director, Contracting Officer and Deputy Director for Beltrami Health and Human Services in Minnesota; AFAA Team Chief at Griffiss AFB, N.Y. and Ellsworth AFB, S.D.; AFAA Office Chief at Offutt AFB, N.D.; Program Manager of both the Healthcare & Security and Engineering & Environmental Divisions at Brooks-City Base, Texas. He was named the Director of the Exchange's Audit Division in July 2008. In August 2015, Kevin was promoted to his current position, Senior Vice President, Audit & IG

Kevin attended Minot State University and earned a Bachelor of Science degree, a Master of Arts in Business Administration from Bellevue University, Neb. and completed Professional Military Comptroller School at Maxwell AFB, Ala.

Kevin holds three professional certifications: Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) and Certified Government Financial Manager (CGFM).

Stephen Groll

Director, Inspector General

Stephen Groll is the Director, Inspector General for the Army & Air Force Exchange Service (Exchange) at the Headquarters in Dallas, Texas. In this capacity, he operates and manages the Office of the Inspector General. His office is responsible for advising Exchange leadership on systemic issues and providing well researched solutions to resolve. The Inspector General oversees investigations of fraud, waste, non-compliance and misuse of Exchange resources relating to programs and operations. The Exchange is the 47th largest retail organization in the U.S. with annual revenue of $10B, employing more than 42,000 civilian and military personnel. The Exchange operates department and convenience stores, gas stations, restaurants, theaters, vending and other businesses on military installations in all 50 states, five U.S. territories and more than 30 countries.

Steve was born in Tokyo, Japan while his father was stationed at Tachikawa Air Base. He served 20+ years as a United States Air Force officer and now proudly claims Texas as his home state. He began his Exchange career in 2013 as the Executive Administrator to the Director/CEO at Exchange Headquarters, Dallas, Texas. In that capacity, Steve was responsible for establishing the Exchange Self-Assessment Program. He led the working group that authored, developed and implemented the first sustainable program for self-assessment of internal controls and compliance. He was named the Director, Inspector General in January 2014.

Steve has deployed to multiple locations while serving in the United States Air Force where he was always impressed by the commitment of the Exchange associates who deployed to support Soldiers and Airmen - truly embodying the “we go where you go” core value.

Steve attended New Mexico State University and earned Bachelor’s Degrees in Government and History. He earned his Masters of Public Administration from the University of Oklahoma and a Master’s Degree in Military Operational Art and Science from Air University, Maxwell Air Force Base.

Steve completed his professional certification as a Certified Fraud Examiner in January 2015.

Steve’s performance over his career has earned him an Extraordinary Achievement Award.
