On behalf of our managers and associates, we welcome you to the Travis Exchange website. The primary mission of Travis Air Force Base (AFB) is to support the Air Mobility command’s (AMC) mission in providing airlift, air refueling, special air mission, and aero medical evacuation for U.S. forces. AMC also supplies forces to theater commands to support wartime tasking. As the Air Force component of the United States Transportation Command, AMC is the single manager for air mobility.

The 60th Air Mobility Wing is the largest air mobility organization in the Air Force with a versatile all-jet fleet of C-5 Galaxy Cargo Aircraft, KC-10 Extender Refueling Aircraft, and new home to the C-17 Globemaster III Cargo Aircraft. The aircraft will greatly improve Travis’ ability to continue its mission of providing rapid air mobility support around the world. As the host unit of Travis Air Force Base, California, the wing controls more than $11 billion in total resources, including 6383 acres, 1790 buildings and about 1798 military family privatized housing units. It handles more cargo and passengers than any other military air terminal in the United States. Travis is located in the West Coast Pacific area. The 60th Air Mobility Wing crews can fly support missions anywhere in the world to fulfill its motto of being “America’s First Choice” for providing true Global Reach.

The wing maintains a work force of approximately 7,600 active-duty military and more than 1,000 appropriated fund civilians and more than 100 non-appropriated fund civilians to support its global mission. In addition, the more than 4,800 reservists assigned to the associate 349th Air Mobility Wing combine with their active duty and civilian counterparts to form a fully integrated Total Force Team. The massive Travis workforce makes an economic impact in the local community of more than $1 billion annually.

Travis AFB is located off Interstate 80, approximately 45 miles northeast of San Francisco, 7 miles southwest of Fairfield, and 7 miles north of Vacaville, California. The Travis Exchange also provides support for retail facilities at Veteran’s Home located in Yountville, Camp Parks Reserve Forces Training Area (PRFTA) located in Dublin, Sharpe Army Depot located in Stockton, McClellan Park located in Sacramento, and Kingsley Field located in Klamath Falls, Oregon.

Travis is also home to one of the Air Force’s largest Military Exchange, with over 20,000 sq ft of shopping and 1,444 parking spaces. Additionally, the Mini-Mall is in the site of the old exchange, adjacent to the BX shopping center. Stores in the Mini-Mall include Military Clothing Sales Store, Class Six, Teen Center, Post Office, Pharmacy, Laundry/Dry Cleaner/Alterations, Starbucks, Watch Repair, Enterprise Auto Rental, and other concession activities.
