Welcome to coastal Georgia, the home of the Fort Stewart/ Hunter AF Consolidated Exchange. Fort Stewart, which is the largest Army Installation east of the Mississippi, covers 279,270 acres spanning over several counties and is located near Hinesville, Ga. Fort Stewart is the home of the “tip of the spear”, the mighty 3rd Infantry Division (Mech).

Hunter Army Air Field is located 44 miles away in Savannah, Ga. Also part of the 3rd ID, Hunter plays a critical role in force protection by sea and by air (HAAF has the Army’s longest runway).

AAFES is committed to supporting the active Duty, National Guard, Reserves, retirees and family members in the southeast Georgia area and anywhere else our service members may go. Many of our Associates and Managers at the Fort at the Fort Stewart/Hunter AAF Consolidated Exchange have deployed in support of OIF and OEF, working in retail facilities in Iraq and Afghanistan. We truly “go where you go”.

As an integral part of the military community, AAFES operates businesses that provide goods and services to our customers. A large portion of the income received from those businesses (after paying for the merchandise, personnel costs, and other expenses), is returned to the community through a dividend that is paid to the MWRF. In 2007, that dividend to the community was $1,035,949. The rest of the income goes into improving our facilities and our operations. In fact, in 2006 Ft Stewart opened a Coffee Shop in the Soldier Service Center and upgraded the Woodruff Theater Concession.

In 2006 AAFES also renovated the old PX building which is now a New Furniture Store/Concession Mall and Food court that includes Godfather’s Pizza and Man Chu Wok. In 2006 the Hunter PX and Mall experienced a complete image upgrade and Hunter Corner Express Shoppette received all new gas pumps. Moving forward, the Burger King will undergo a complete renovation which will begin this year (2007) and end in the summer of 2008. Additionally, in 2008 2 new shoppettes will be constructed at Ft Stewart. One will be located on 6th Street (mini-mall) and the other on Harmon Ave (shoppette w/gas). Upon completion of the Harmon St Shoppette, the existing Victory Shoppette will undergo an image upgrade and all pumps will be replaced and relocated to facilitate a better traffic flow.

My staff and I are committed to providing the highest standards of service possible to our valued customers. We appreciate your patronage and consider our Military and their families to be the best customers in the world! We are focused on our customer and welcome you to provide comments to me at Lovitt@aafes.com, and I look forward to hearing from you.
