Force Base and Hurlburt Field
are located on Northwest Florida’s prestigious Emerald Coast. This
area has the distinction of being home of some of the world’s most beautiful
beaches. Eglin Air Force Base spans approximately 724 square miles including
approximately 6,634 acres at Hurlburt Field.
The climate is ideal with warm, subtropical weather that lasts almost nine months out of the year. Eglin’s host unit is the Air Armament Center whose primary responsibility is research, development, testing, and initial acquisition of all Air Force non-nuclear munitions. Hurlburt Field is the home of the Air Force Special Operations Command whose mission is to provide rapid reaction force for global special operations “Any Time, Any Place”.
