Scott AFB is about 25 miles east of St. Louis, near Belleville,
Illinois. Scott AFB's primary missions are managing a domestic aeromedical
evacuation system, commanding and supervising all operational support
airlift within the U.S. and providing initial qualification training for
C-9 and C-21 pilots. The base is also home to 3 Headquarters and a reserve
airlift wing. In addition there are several tenant units, some directly
supporting the base, the others carrying out their mission statement.
The primary mission of the Army and Air Force Exchange Service is to provide authorized patrons with quality merchandise and services of necessity and convenience at uniformly low prices. The secondary mission is to generate earnings in support of morale, welfare and recreation (MWR) programs. The Scott Exchange currently serves "the Best Customers in the World" which is comprised of approximately 7,000 military and 14,500 military retirees and their families, implementing the latest technology to give AAFES customers quality products and services at the best price. We promise you the lowest price in town through out price match program. The Mall Shopping Center opened on Scott in May 2003. The complex is home not only to an expanded Main Store, but also to the MCSS and several food facilities. Additions to the retail area, which is almost double the size of the previous BX, includes furniture and an expanded Outdoor Living area. The Main Store is open Monday – Saturday from 0900 to 2000 hrs and on Sunday from 1000 – 1800 hrs. The mall area offers a variety of great concessions, including a gift shop, nail salon, flower shop, beauty and barber shops, optical shop, GNC, laundry/dry cleaning, coffee shop, tailor and arcade. While shopping at these facilities you can also choose from five of our food facilities, they include Taco Bell, Baskin Robbins, Charlie's Steakery, Anthony's Pizza and Robin Hood. Our Shoppette/Class Six/Car Care Center continues to be the one-stop shopping experience for our "on the go" customers and is located within a short distance of the Burger King.
