On behalf of the staff at the Ft. Leonard Wood Exchange, I want to thank you for inquiring about our facilities. Ft. Leonard Wood is a growing installation that is very proud of it’s training mission. Thousands of new recruits receive their Basic and AIT training here every year. In addition, the Installation has schools that teach the Army’s Engineers, Military Police, as well as Chemical training. These schools have provided Ft. Leonard Wood with the designation of the number one training installation in the Army. Permanent party at Ft. Leonard Wood include the 3rd Training Brigade as well as the 1st Engineer Brigade. The proud heritage of Ft. Leonard Wood can be seen at the Wood Walker Museum where over 100,000 people visit each year.

The Army and Air Force Exchange Service continues to grow with the post. We recently opened the new South Shoppette that has 10 fuel dispensers, a Blimpie Sandwich Shop with a drive thru and seating for 72 guests, and an automatic car wash. We have also recently completed construction on a Dual Food facility (Burger King/Church’s Chicken). This facility has a double drive thru as well as seating for 150 guests. Both projects were completed in FY2005.

November 2006 we opened up our brand new Shopping Complex . This facility has 70,000 square feet of retail space which is double the size of the old PX. This facility is also home to a new Food Court that features Greek Odyssey, Charlie’s Steakery, Einstein’s Bagels, Baskin Robbins, Manchu Wok, Anthony’s Pizza and Robin Hood. A Concession Mall is also located in this facility and houses several gift shops as well as services such as the Barber and Beauty Shops, Shoe Shine and a Vision Center co-located with an Optical Shop.

Ft. Leonard Wood is located 2 miles south of I-44 just 2 hours west of St. Louis and 1 hour east of Springfield. We look forward to you visiting our facilities whether it is your first visit or one thousandth. Our mission is to serve you and exceed any expectations you have when shopping at our stores or dining in our restaurants. If for any reason we fall short, we urge you to use the customer comment program we have in every facility so that we can make the necessary improvements. Better yet, ask to speak with a manager so we can take care of the problem on the spot. I also invite you to tell me directly how you feel about our Exchange at Wigness@aafes.com.
