Entrance

No steps at entrance, any ramp has a maximum slope of 1:12, the approach route is at least 30" wide, and the door is at least 32" wide.


Ramp with a slope steeper than 1:12 or approach is less than 36" wide, or door is less than 32" wide.

Inaccessible because of steps, narrow entrance, or very steep slope.

Interior

There are no steps, any ramp has a maximum slope of 1:12, and corridors are at least 36 inches.


There may be a ramp with a slope greater than 1:12, or interior doors are less than 32" wide, or corridors are less than 36" wide.

Steps, narrow doors, or narrow corridors make the interior inaccessible.

Restrooms

No stairs leading to restrooms, entrance doors and stalls are at least 32", floor space inside the stall is at least 36" by 66", and grab bars are at a height of 33" to 36".


The restroom is on an accessible route but it does not meet all UFAs standards listed herein.

Restrooms are not accessible because of steps, a very narrow entrance, or very small interior.

Telephone

...Can be approached with a wheelchair, coin slot height (or other operable part) is no more than 54" for side reach or 48" for front reach, and open space in front of the telephone is at least 30" x 48".


...approachable by wheelchair and is no more than 6" higher than the above standard.

...higher than 60" and can not be approached with a wheelchair because of steps or other barriers.
